Sales & Business Development intern

Our company

BLANC is the UK's fastest growing natural garment cleaning specialist. We are London-based, with concept stores in Marylebone and Notting Hill and an operations base in Park Royal (North Acton tube station on the Central line). In our stores and online we also sell a range of carefully selected eco-friendly and home decoration products.

BLANC cleans all clothes, even the most delicate, in a healthy, natural and sustainable way. We use biodegradable and health-friendly detergents instead of the toxic chemicals traditionally used by conventional dry cleaners. We smell good. We are ethical. We are convenient (24/7 pickup in store, a growing home collection and delivery for individuals and corporate clients). We recycle and re-use resources, from hangers to bags to waste produced in our facilities, and our stores look fabulous, often featuring in top style magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Vanity Fair.

About the role

BLANC is currently growing extremely fast and requires all hands on deck. We are looking for a hard-working, motivated and entrepreneurially minded student to assist us with the various work streams associated with the daily operations and development of the business.

Our dream intern will be able to work independently (we are very stretched and our intern will be expected to show a lot of initiative), passionate about start-ups (there is a lot to do in many different areas and without a lot of resources), will understand how technology can improve the online and physical user experience for customers and be tenacious and dedicated in their attitude to solving problems – we are very busy and there are many!

As a Sales & Business Development Intern you will be multitasking across many different areas and projects, including sales and business development, real estate, recruitment, logistics (how to get the product to our customers operationally), product and customer facing activities. This is a chance to work at the heart of a small team of entrepreneurs and to get involved at all levels of the business.

We will expect the successful candidate to spend between half day to a day per week working with the operations, helping in the stores, the Atelier, with web order preparations, product inventory, etc. We believe that such implication at the heart of the business will provide you with the necessary insight to successfully complete the other tasks in your internship and get to interact with the various teams and areas of the business..


Business Development:

  • Developing new sales strategies to attract new customers in our stores (our B2C clients)

  • Pitching new corporate customers, implementing and maintaining long-term relationships with key accounts (our B2B clients)

  • Developing partnerships with other brands and suppliers

  • Developing strategies to boost deliveries

  • Organising trade shows and other key brand events

  • Gathering customer feedback to aid product development and user experience

  • Researching ideas that could help support the development of the brand

  • Help researching new store locations and launching them

  • Analysing sales and company’s results on a regular basis, identifying trends, developing and implementing relevant strategies


  • Supporting the CEO and Operations Director in any task they require to make the operations and production processes more efficient

  • Help researching new systems & tech to make the business more efficient

  • Help with setting up new stores
    • Help with customer service

  • Help our People Manager recruit for BLANC: post ads, screen before interviews through phone calls


  • Excellent written communication skills (in English) needed

  • Commercial mindset

  • Good attention to detail and organised

  • Comfortable working independently, as well as in a team - ability to ‘pick up and run’ with projects when necessary
    • Self starter with entrepreneurial mentality

  • Positive and friendly attitude

  • Financial and analytical skills required, Excel fluent

  • Some experience with CRM tools will be an advantage.

What you should know

  • Intern needed from July 2018 for a 6-month period

  • Pay: £100 per week (or £430 per month)

  • Full-time role based mainly in Acton (with occasional trips to our stores in Notting Hill, Marylebone and Chelsea)
