BLANC was founded in 2011. Our founders wanted to build a business that mattered, and to help improving people’s health and the environment by “cleaning up” an industry that was toxic and rather set in its old-fashioned ways.
What is more quintessentially toxic than the dry-cleaning industry?
BLANC wondered what it would look like without the toxic smells and chemicals, until we discovered a tried and tested technology. This technology was slowly gaining popularity in other countries, but was lacking the investment and commitment to make things change in the UK until BLANC.
BLANC opened its doors in Marylebone at 79 George Street (close to Bond Street tube station) in 2013. A second store opened 18 months later in Notting Hill, at 77 Lonsdale Road, delivering a healthier, better quality and alternative to dry cleaning, with results that speak for themselves – cleaner, softer, “greener” clothes. Today, we have four stores in Marylebone, Notting Hill, Chelsea & South Kensington.
Our founders made sure that BLANC's commitment to eco-friendly, natural cleaning and homes did not end with dry cleaning. We have also carefully curated BLANC Home, a carefully selected range of products from the most environmentally friendly and natural brands in the UK and Europe. These can be browsed in our stores, and include a collection of natural detergents, delicate organic soaps and more from Jason Markk, bioD, Steamery & more.
