Eco Dry Cleaning that protects what you wear
Conventional dry cleaning is neither dry nor clean
Traditional dry cleaning immerses garments in a liquid solvent, most often perchloroethylene (PERC), a chlorinated solvent classed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as a Group 2A probable human carcinogen.PERC dissolves grease well. It also strips natural oils from wool, dulls silk and weakens thread at stress points. The stiffness and fading that follow are often cumulative damage from the cleaning method, not normal wear.
That is why the method matters more than the label. Garments that look alike can need different care. What BLANC uses instead: non-toxic methods
BLANC has never used PERC since founding in 2011. We select between two gentle methods:- Liquid CO₂ Cleaning: Dissolves grease at low temperature, without water, and is recaptured and reused after every cycle. Suited to tailored and structured pieces.
- Advanced Wet Cleaning: Water and biodegradable, pH-neutral detergents in machines that control temperature and movement. Suited to everyday garments.
Individual assessment & hand finishing
Finishing, Not By Machine Pressing
Machine pressing flattens a garment. Hand finishing shapes it. A specialist works section by section, shaping shoulders and collars, pressing around beading without crushing it. For suits, tailoring, cashmere, silk, knitwear, evening wear and wedding gowns.Every garment carries a small barcode label, invisible when worn, tracking it through cleaning and finishing back to you. Nothing is mixed up or batched.
- Fibre, dye & stain assessment
- Cleaning cycle set per garment
- Hand-shaped lapels & shoulders
Eco-Friendly dry cleaning, without compromise.
Conventional dry cleaning relies on a chlorinated solvent that strips natural oils from delicate fibres. BLANC is built around the alternative: cleaning that protects the fabric as well as cleaning it.
Our dry cleaning method is non-toxic and sustainable, using advanced wet cleaning with biodegradable detergents for most fabrics, including:
- Fresh on return: No solvent smell on your clothes.
- Closed loop: Liquid CO₂ is recaptured & reused after every cycle.
- Gentle on fibre: pH-neutral, biodegradable detergents in wet cleaning.

Frequently Asked Questions
BLANC uses liquid CO₂ and advanced wet cleaning with biodegradable, pH-neutral detergents. No perchloroethylene is used at any stage. Liquid CO₂ is recaptured and reused after each cycle, and neither method leaves solvent residue on the garment.
Perchloroethylene, also known as PERC or PCE, is a chlorinated solvent used by many conventional dry cleaners. The International Agency for Research on Cancer classes it as a Group 2A probable human carcinogen. It strips natural oils from fibres, dulls colour and weakens thread over repeated cycles. BLANC has never used it.
For most garments, yes. Liquid CO₂ is effective on grease and oil, and wet cleaning is effective on perspiration and water-based marks. Each garment is inspected first and the method is chosen to suit the fabric and the stain. Some marks need specialist treatment, and we tell you if a stain may not come out.
Prices start from £5.90 for a polo shirt, £9.90 for trousers, £18.60 for a dress and £24.90 for a coat. A two-piece suit is £18.00 when cleaned together. Designer and luxury labels carry a supplement, confirmed after inspection. Prices are the same in all four studios. See the price guide above or our full pricing page.
