Luxury dry cleaning prices at BLANC are determined by three things: the garment, the fabric, and the work required. A cotton shirt and a silk evening dress are not the same service. The fabric is different, the cleaning method is different, the finishing is different, and the time involved is different. The price reflects that. Standard garments carry standard pricing. Specialist pieces receive an individual quote after inspection.
What determines the cost of dry cleaning?
The price of cleaning a garment at BLANC is not set by a category list. It is set by what the garment actually requires.
- Fabric. Natural fibres — silk, cashmere, wool — require more precise temperature control, gentler agitation, and more careful finishing than synthetics or standard cotton. The method is calibrated to the fibre. A garment that needs more precise handling takes more time.
- Construction. A lined blazer with internal canvassing is cleaned differently from an unlined cotton jacket. The interlining, the shoulder padding, and the construction details all influence the method and the finishing. More complex construction requires more specialist handling.
- Staining. Standard soiling is included in the base price. Stains that require pre-treatment — wine, oil, perspiration yellowing, pollen — involve additional work before the cleaning cycle begins. The pre-treatment is matched to the specific stain and fabric combination.
- Finishing. Every garment at BLANC is finished by hand. A business shirt is pressed on a form. A silk dress is steamed and shaped. A tailored suit is finished on shaped hangers with the collar, lapels, and shoulders individually pressed. Hand finishing takes longer than machine pressing and produces a measurably better result.

Standard Pricing
Everyday garments carry standard published pricing: shirts, trousers, dresses, skirts, coats, jackets, and similar pieces. These prices cover dry cleaning or wet cleaning, hand finishing, and return on a hanger or folded — depending on your preference.
Our wash and fold service is priced by weight for everyday laundry items — cotton shirts, casual trousers, bed linen, and towels. The shirt service covers business shirts laundered, pressed, and finished to BLANC standard at a fixed per-item price.
Individual Quotes
Specialist garments receive an individual quote after inspection. This includes wedding dresses, couture pieces, heavily embellished garments, leather and suede, vintage textiles, and any item where the fabric or construction requires assessment before a cleaning method can be selected. The quote is provided before any work begins. There are no surprises on collection.
Clothing alterations and repairs are also quoted individually, based on the complexity of the work. A hem adjustment and a full re-lining are different jobs. The quote reflects the specific alteration, not a flat rate.
Ozone Treatment
Ozone treatment is priced at £9 per piece for standard clothing and £15 per piece for specialist items including shoes, helmets, and motorcycle gear. Volume quotes are available for full wardrobe disinfection or moth treatment across multiple garments. Ozone treatment is carried out at the BLANC Atelier at 16 Gorst Road, NW10 6LE.

Wedding dress cleaning and preservation are quoted after a physical inspection — either at the Chelsea Studio or through our collection service.
We do not charge at the point of collection. The final total is confirmed after the garment has been inspected at the Atelier, and you are charged before or at the time of delivery.

Why do women’s shirts cost more than men’s shirts?
Women’s shirts typically require more hand finishing due to variations in cut, collar construction, fabric weight, and detailing. A man’s business shirt follows a standard construction that can be finished on a press form. A woman’s blouse with a shaped seam or delicate fabric requires individual hand pressing. The price difference reflects the additional time and skill.
When am I charged for my order?
You are charged after your garments have been cleaned and the final order total is confirmed. BLANC does not charge at the point of collection. The charge is applied to the card on your account before or at the time of delivery. If the total differs from an initial estimate, the final amount reflects the actual work carried out.
